As March comes to a close, we thought a great way to end the month would be to take a look at what Finer Womanhood means to our sorority and how we've incorporated those values into our Finer Womanhood week!
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is the only sorority that uplifts and encourages its members to become finer women. Finer Womanhood is Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated's fourth and final principle, a principle that embodies what it means to be a member of this groundbreaking and illustrious sorority.
What exactly is Finer Womanhood?
As defined by our esteemed sorority, Finer Womanhood is the “distinguishing characteristics of a woman, one superior in kind, quality, or appearance; marked by or affecting elegance or refinement.”
A finer woman is a woman who through mind, body, and spirit seeks to empower herself and people from all walks of life. She delights in uplifting her community and building sisterly bonds. She sets the bar high for herself when pursuing her goals, whether they be academic or community-driven and action-oriented. A finer woman welcomes growth and only gets finer as time goes on.
Finer Womanhood isn't just a principle we uphold in our sorority but a principle that is applied to our everyday decision-making and life choices.
Finer Womanhood is a way of life.
What is Finer Womanhood Week?
Finer Womanhood week can be any week from the end of February to the end of March. It is a week-long series of events that individual chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated host. Some events hosted by a chapter may be open to the community, while others will be restricted to members only to strengthen their chapter's sisterly bonds.
But every event reflects what it means to be a Finer Woman.
Finer Womanhood week is a time for members to celebrate being part of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and reflect on what it really means to embody this principle!
The week presents the opportunity to look back on our wins as members of this amazing sorority and to reflect on what we can improve upon, as individuals, sisters, and sorority members as we move forward in our lives and our Zeta journeys.
How is Gamma Alpha Pi Zeta celebrating Finer Womanhood week?
This year we are kicked off Finer Womanhood week with some amazing events to display what Finer Womanhood means to us and the impact this principle has had in our lives. We had events from private sisterly bonding events to a fun D9 social mixer!
